What is an IE?
The Instructor Examination is held by PADI and is a two-day evaluative program that tests an instructor candidate’s teaching ability, dive theory knowledge, skill level, understanding of the PADI System, and attitude and professionalism.
PADI IEs are standardized and conducted by specially trained PADI Instructor Examiners. The IE location, testing environment and examination sessions are organized to be as objective as possible to fairly and consistently evaluate a candidate’s abilities.
How can I start prepping?
Drop us an email to learn about dates, requirements and materials. Our Course Director will happily advise you on pre-study you can do depending on your personal dive experience and level.
You may also sign up for Dive Theory Online, if you haven’t already completed it or it’s been more than a year since you went through it. The program is a straight forward review of dive physics, physiology, skills, equipment and environment, plus using the Recreational Dive Planner (RDP).
By successfully completing Dive Theory Online, you can get credit for the dive theory exam requirement during your IDC.
Do I need to bring my whole PADI Library?
No, you don't. First, if you have digital material that is perfectly fine. Second you can use our materials here as needed. What you will need however is the complete IDC Crewpack and EFRI materials, that we can provide. Email us for more details if you would like to purchase the material beforehand.

All your dive equipment, all that you need to enjoy Bali for a few weeks, and a lot of energy!

In some countries insurance as a dive professional is mandatory. In Indonesia it is not, however we strongly suggest that you have a professional dive insurance. Dan Asia Pacific can help, or check your PADI Pro account depending on where you reside you will find different options.
Can we start an IDC any day?
The dates for the PADI Instructor Examination are fixed and the dates of the IDC are based on these. However we do offer some flexibility with the course if you have time requirements or date restrictions.

We totally can. If you decide to go for one of our IDC packages that does not include accommodation, we can offer you a few options from which you can choose, all that have been checked and approved by our team. Depending on your budget we will certainly find something that will work for you!
Do you organise transfers?
We do better than that: with any IDC package we provide you with a motorbike rental for one month, FREE of charge! For any diving during your course transfers will be included.
Is it really going to be a lot of studying?
Probably not as much as you think, but it is a pretty intense program. There is however a fair amount of studying that can be done before the course in order to help!.
